Tibet Visa Information for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Traveling to Tibet for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra requires a special Tibet Group Visa, issued by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal. Below are the essential guidelines and requirements to ensure a smooth visa process:

Key Requirements

  1. Original Passport:

    • Your original passport is mandatory for the visa application.
    • It must have a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of travel.
    • Without a valid passport, the Chinese Embassy cannot issue a Tibet visa.
  2. Processing Time:

    • Tibet visas are processed in 3 working days (Monday–Friday) by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
  3. Photograph Guidelines:

    • The photo must meet Chinese Embassy specifications.
    • Glasses, jewelry, tikas, or face coverings are not allowed.
    • Women must ensure that their ears are visible, hair does not cover the earlobes, and no teeth are visible in the photo.

  4. Visa Application Form:

      • The Tibet visa application form must be completely and accurately filled.
    • Errors or incomplete details may result in visa rejection.
  5. Arrival in Kathmandu:

    • Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will collect your original passport and process the Tibet visa as per the itinerary.
    • Delays in arrival or missed schedules may lead to cancellation of your Kailash tour.

Important Notes

  • Group Visa Only:
    Individual visas are not available. All travelers must apply for a group visa, which will be issued as a paper document.

  • Age Limits:

    • Indian passport holders: 9 to 70 years.
    • Non-Indian passport holders: 9 to 80 years.
    • Travelers above 70 must provide a medical fitness certificate from their home country.
  • Mixed Groups Not Allowed:
    Indian and non-Indian passport holders cannot travel together under the same visa group. Non-Indian passport holders may travel together as a separate group.
